Work in Progress
This documentation is still being expanded and refined. Features, screenshots, and descriptions may change until Talescape's public release. If something is unclear or you need help, please ask on the official Talescape Discord. We're happy to clarify or update pages as needed.
The Cookbook explains how to plan common story formats in Talescape. These guides are not fixed templates or required workflows. They show which editor systems matter for each format and how those systems fit together.
In this chapter, you'll learn how to:
- Create a Visual Novel - Use scenes for context, characters for presentation, dialogue for flow and choices for consequences.
- Create a Point & Click Adventure - Build locations, exploration, inspect and interact behavior, item gates and puzzle state.
- Create a Horror Game - Shape pacing, atmosphere, information control, delayed reveals and state-driven escalation.
- Create a Hidden Object Game - Plan visual search, object readability, discovery feedback, progress tracking and completion rules.
Each guide starts with the player experience, then connects it to scenes, dialogue, media, variables, items, conditions, actions, testing tools and release preparation. Keep your first version small enough to finish and test before you expand the project.
