How do I play stories on Talescape?
Download the Talescape app on Steam, iOS, or Google Play, and sign in with your Talescape account. Browse available Tales, preview their descriptions, and start playing instantly. Some stories are free, while others can be purchased directly within the app.
Are Tales free to play?
That depends on the Bard. Each creator chooses whether their Tale is free or paid. Even paid Tales may include previews so you can explore before deciding to buy.
What do subscriptions do?
Subscriptions unlock comfort features for players and help sustain the Talescape platform. They remove ads, expand your autosave capacity, and offer unlimited save options at higher tiers - all with seamless cloud sync included. Your subscription supports Talescape itself by funding hosting, moderation, and contest prizes - not individual Bards.
Can I continue my progress across devices?
Yes. Talescape automatically syncs your progress through the cloud, so your stories follow you wherever you play - on Steam or mobile. All Dreamers have cloud sync; subscriptions simply increase how many saves you can keep per story.
What happens to my progress if I unsubscribe?
Your existing saves remain available locally, but the number of cloud saves will return to the free tier limit. Your Tales and purchases stay linked to your account permanently.
How do refunds work for paid Tales?
Talescape does not process refunds directly. All purchases are handled through the platform where you bought the Tale - such as Steam, Apple, or Google. Their respective refund policies apply. If you need help finding the right process, you can contact Talescape support for guidance.
How can I report bugs or technical issues?
You can submit bug reports directly through the in-app feedback form or via the official Discord. Include as much detail as possible - what you were doing, the device you used, and screenshots if relevant. Every report helps improve the experience for everyone.
